Autac Introduces Its Customizable TPE Cords, A Smart Alternative To Neoprene
NORTH BRANFORD, CT-Autac, Inc., a leading manufacturer of retractile cords, announces its customizable Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) cords. Ideal for electrical wire and cable, the TPE cords present a smart alternative to Neoprene.
TPE is an excellent replacement for the often hard-to-locate Neoprene. Its rubber-like feel and appearance make it comparable to Neoprene, and its ability to maintain high retractile memory and flexibility in high stress applications make it virtually indistinguishable. TPE has a wider temperature range than Neoprene, is more environmentally friendly, and eliminates the need for an expensive curing process.
Available in a custom-made range of colors, the cords can be color-coded for easy and quick identification. The durable TPE cords are weather, oil, chemical, ozone, flame, UV, impact, and abrasion-resistant.
Available in 12-28 AWG, the cords can be designed to handle varying amounts of amperage. The cords are featured in 12", 24", 36", and 48", which can extend on a 1:5 ratio if needed. The TPE cords have dielectric constants of 2.1-2.4 and dielectric strengths of 600 volts.
Customized lengths and ratios are also available, up to a 12 foot retracted length extending 60 feet, to meet the user's specific needs. The cords meet UL/CSA (Canadian Standards Association) specifications.

The Serve Shield is soft tinned copper, spiral wrap, 36 AWG, which offers 90% coverage. Cords Offer Advanced Safety Features
NORTH BRANFORD, CT—Autac, Inc., a leading manufacturer of retractile cords, introduces its innovative, glow-in-the-dark retractile extension cords. Ideal for industrial applications, the cords are designed with a glow-in-the-dark material that makes working in dark areas of a manufacturing facility safer. After one hour of exposure to light, the cords will glow for eight hours.
The cords extend only as far as necessary to eliminate loose wire on the ground and the need to roll up long extension cords. Available in PVC and TPE, the cords come equipped with plugs that light to alert users when the wire is live, preventing electrical accidents. Other safety features include Nema 515 plugs, twist-lock plugs, molded plugs, and strain release.
